HOW ABOUT SOME TIDBITS OF NEWS TO LET YOU KNOW YOUR POA IS WELL AND STILL AT WORK!
The severe winter hampered the activities of the POA meetings (as well as our lives) and because our Board members are people with busy lives filled with schedules of many responsibilities they have are not always available to attend each meeting. (The by-laws state that an officer cannot miss more than two meetings in succession). However, the cancellation of a Board meeting does not mean the work of the Board has stopped. There are still one-on-one meetings about problems and challenges in the subdivision, activities to ensure the POA business is being taken care of properly, and the communication afforded you through advanced technology. Your presence at the meetings is essential if you want you POA to work for you! There are many activities in our neighborhood that could use HELP!!
Come to the meeting not just to complain about the dogs running loose all over the neighborhood; but come and give us your ideas and thoughts about what we need to do to better serve you! MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (or until your concerns and questions are addressed).
Speaking of the dog situation, there is a leash law in this subdivision. No dog should be running loose and invading neighbors’ yards. If you are experiencing problems with this, call the County Nuisance officer and file a complaint. The telephone number is 903-675-6158.
The Board needs volunteers to serve. There is presently a vacant position to be filled. Submit your name if you are interested on being on the Board. The next election is scheduled for May 10, 2014. Absentee ballots will be available at the April 12, 2014 meeting and will be due before May 10 election.

The Board is scheduling “Trash-Out” the end of April. The trash-out event is a great way to clean up your property and it’s paid for with your dues. Mark your calendar for the last weekend in April. That would be April 26 & 27.
Did you know the POA Building is yours to utilize?! It can be reserved for private family parties, garage sales, baby showers and any get-together. It doesn’t cost you a “red-cent” to use it for your functions. The only requirement is that you book a reservation and agree to leave the building in the condition it was in when you booked it. The building has heating/air -conditioning, a refrigerator, microwave, tables and chairs all provided for your convenience.
BURN OR NOT BURN!!! Everyone is always questioning if there is a “Burn Ban” in effect. The quickest answer for this question is to call the County Fire Marshall’s office. The number is (903) 675-6157.
Use common sense to determine “ to burn or not burn.” If the wind is whipping, don’t burn. If it’s extremely dry and no rain has fallen in a while, don’t burn! If you do burn, always have water hose available at your burn site so the burn doesn’t get out of control. Respect your neighbor’s concern when you do decide to burn.
